The Sheridan College volleyball program has really stepped up during Region 9 conference play. Last week the Generals faced Casper College in Casper, WY. "We are starting to show alot of confidence, chemistry and resilence on the court." said Head coach Jennifer Stadler. "Our team is starting to figure some things out and we are continuing to improve in the small areas every day in practice." The Generals swept Casper College in 3 sets. They were led by sophomore right side hitter Tehay Ray who tallied 5 kills and 6 assisted blocks. Freshman Jody Gallagher also had a standout performance with 7 blocks and 4 kills hitting .600 on the match.
On friday the Generals faced the Northwest Trappers. "We knew going into the match that it was going to be competitive and that we were in for a battle." The last time the Generals faced Northwest was in preseason and they lost in 5 sets. With some key plays at the end of sets and aggressive serving the Generals came out on top winning in 5 sets moving to 4-0 in conference. They again were led by freshman middle hitter Jody Gallagher who posted 12 kills, 1 ace and 3 blocks. Also sophomore middle hitter Mykaila Jensen had a great night posting 16 kills hitting .464 on the night.
This week the Generals face Eastern Wyoming Friday at 7:00pm and Laramie County Community Saturday at 3:00pm.
